What we will ask
The third phase will turn to the most intimate dimension of young people's lives: the bonds they form and sustain — or struggle to form and sustain — with others. Research questions will include: friendship patterns and quality; attitudes toward romantic relationships, cohabitation, and marriage; family bonds and intergenerational dynamics; the experience of loneliness and community; and the role of shared belief or values in building lasting relationships.
Questionnaire development will begin in 2026, incorporating insights and hypotheses generated by the first two phases.
